"A Course of Pure Mathematics" is a classic elementary textbook intended in the first place for first-year students of mathematics at Universities. Emphasis is placed in it on analysis. Examples are given at the end of each chapter; in certain cases the solution also is outlined. Four appendices deal respectively with: The Inequalities of Hölder and Minkowski; The Proof that Every Equation has a Root; A Note on Double Limit Problems; The Infinite in Analysis and Geometry.
