A selected review: "I've been a fan of this lesser known little film Saturn 3 since I saw it when I was a kid. I thought it would be fun to read the movie tie-in just to see if there were any differences from the film. I was quite surprised to find many alternate parts and an alternate ending. It's a shame the film didn't have some of these parts in it. The majority of the film takes place inside the lab on Saturn 3 but the book contains parts where Hector the Demigod actually leaves the station to explore the Saturn 3 moon and he also develops a bit of comraderie with Adam. Neither of these are explored in the theatrical film. Also the hatred Hector has for Captain James is much stronger in the book. The novel appears to be the complete telling of the story. The theatrical version and the tv version had very different scenes and edits. Perhaps one day a full "Director's Cut" or "Extended Version" may emerge. A must-read if you're a fan of the film."
